Why do we need the Whole Student System?
Every now and then, Joe Rogers will receive messages from former students who are thriving in college or embarking on their careers.
It’s a regular reminder for Rogers of the real-world impact that his community of educators has on the students they serve each year.
“When they leave us after graduation, we are confident that they are going to be able to do what they want to do after high school,” said Rogers, an Instructional Coach at Frankfort High School in Frankfort, Kentucky. “And that’s because of the program that we have in place here and how the most important thing for us is that our students feel supported and excited to learn.”
Rogers and his Frankfort teammates have worked closely with Gradient Learning since 2015, and they’ve joined partners from across the country to provide valuable feedback that have helped us evolve our program.
The result is the Whole Student System, which brings together everything educators need in a single, cohesive approach to deliver on the promise of setting students up for success in all aspects of their lives.
Our evolved program brings a curated and integrated set of research-based tools and resources, plus a skilled coach, to help all schools develop and reach their Whole Student vision for their communities.
For Dawn Krueger, Principal at Heath Middle School in Colorado, the key to education is getting students to embrace their role as a learner with both their heart and mind.
“A student can’t access their mind and unlock what they need to learn if their heart isn’t where it needs to be,” said Krueger, who was a 2024 Gradient Learning School Leader of the Year.
